What a fantastic time I had at the Storylines Festival in Auckland launching my new book, Wooden Arms.
The festival is such a great day, full of activities and stories and books for children and families. It’s on every year, so if you haven’t been before, make it a date for 2013. It’s at the end of August, with family days in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch. Masses of New Zealand writers and illustrators go along, so there’s a good chance you’ll get to meet some of your favourites.
One of the best things about the launch was that Joy Cowley spoke at it. Joy was there because Wooden Arms won the Joy Cowley Award in 2011. What an honour to stand on the same stage as her.
The other highlight was a play of Ella and Ob put on by pupils from Owairaka School. It was fabulous, funny and spooky at the same time. Well done guys!
